We're Up & Running

Welcome to Rondebosch and our Shepherds Hut. I am new to blogging but I am going to persevere to try and add some colour to the existence of our Shepherds Hut.

Whilst taking my break from helping out in the Suffolk Beekeepers marquee at the Suffolk Show a few years back I looked around and inside a Shepherds Hut on display and had a thought that I might like to try to make one.

A chunk of garden to one side of our property was crying out for a purpose and the possibility of having a holiday let to welcome visitors to our neck of the woods was appealing and would help to justify our desire to have a go.

We settled on purchasing a kit from and Artisan Blacksmith in Norfolk, following a couple of visits and discovering that not only was he talented but also produces robust components.

Armed with the kit of parts, photos, measurements, advice and tips, some extra muscle for the heavy bits and a hot dry summer battle commenced, alongside getting the necessary permissions.

A considerable time later (mainly because I wanted to thoroughly enjoy the build and fitting out process) we have completed our Holiday Let and are ready to welcome our first visitors once the current restrictions are lifted.
